Andy was born and raised in Shoreline, Washington and graduated from Shorewood High School, before attending Western Washington University. In junior high, he developed a passion for woodworking, and spent early mornings and late afternoons in woodshop as the T.A., honing his skills and learning a variety of old & new techniques. During his years at WWU, he worked summers in the construction industry as an apprentice carpenter in high-end residential, and found his true calling.
After working in the industry for 8 years with a great crew, Andy decided to combine his entrepreunureal calling with his expertise in construction - particularly finish carpentry and cabinet/millwork installation. He started Stern Construction in 2016, specializing in interior finish-work and remodeling, and the company has slowly and steadily grown into where it is today.
In his free-time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, golfing, camping, snowboarding, attending Mariner's and Aquasox games, and traveling. He supports youth athletics as both a coach and volunteer in multiple leagues, and enjoys the challenge of trying to keep up with his kids.
